About Me

Hello! I’m Shivam Chahar, a 20-year-old Chartered Accountancy enthusiast from the historic city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh. From a young age, I was curious about the world around me — especially about how money works, how businesses run, and how smart decisions shape the economy. Today, I’m on an exciting journey to become a Chartered Accountant, combining my love for numbers with a creative approach to solving problems.

Early Days: From PCM to Commerce

Like many students, I started my academic journey in the PCM stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) during my school years. I was good at these subjects, and it felt like the “expected” path to a stable future. But as I progressed, I realized something important — my true interests didn’t lie in engineering or science. I was more fascinated by the business world, finance, and how companies grow.

So, after finishing 12th grade, I made a bold decision to switch from PCM to commerce — a move that surprised some but felt right to me. Switching streams was not easy. It meant starting fresh with subjects I hadn’t deeply studied before and catching up with peers who had been in commerce for years. But I was determined to follow my passion rather than just the “safe” path.

Embracing the CA Challenge

Deciding to pursue Chartered Accountancy (CA) was like opening a new chapter full of challenges and opportunities. The CA course is famously tough — it demands discipline, patience, and relentless hard work. Coming from PCM, I had to learn accounting, business laws, taxation, and auditing from scratch. But every exam cleared — be it CA Foundation or CA Intermediate — became a milestone that boosted my confidence and strengthened my resolve.

While studying, I’ve learned that CA is not just about memorizing rules or crunching numbers. It’s about understanding the story behind the numbers — how businesses operate, how risks are managed, and how financial information helps stakeholders make smart decisions.

The Hunt for Articleship

Right now, I’m actively searching for the right articleship opportunity. I know this phase will be a turning point — where I get to step out of textbooks and into the real world. Articleship will let me work alongside experienced professionals, deal with real clients, and apply everything I’ve learned in practice. It’s the training ground that will shape me into a capable, confident CA.

Though I’m still looking, I’m optimistic. I’m constantly upgrading my skills, networking, and preparing to take on the professional world with enthusiasm and a readiness to learn.

More Than Just a CA Student

I’ve always believed that success isn’t just about mastering textbooks or clearing exams — it’s about developing a diverse skill set that sets you apart. While my focus remains on becoming a Chartered Accountant, I’ve made it a point to grow in areas beyond traditional accounting.

To stay ahead in today’s fast-paced world, I’ve invested time in learning:

Data Analysis & Visualization: Tools like Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SQL help me dive deep into numbers, uncover insights, and present data in a way that’s clear and actionable.

Creative Communication: Whether it’s crafting eye-catching presentations with PowerPoint 3D, designing graphics in Canva, or editing videos using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro, I enjoy turning complex ideas into engaging stories.

Creative Design & Video Editing: With Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Premiere Pro, I bring ideas to life visually — from designing stunning graphics and presentations to editing videos that captivate and engage.

Digital Presence & Community Building: Building websites, optimizing social media channels, and managing online communities have taught me how to connect with people, foster engagement, and create meaningful digital experiences.

By combining these technical and creative skills, I’m preparing myself to be more than just a CA student — I’m shaping up to be a versatile professional who can solve problems, lead projects, and innovate in any environment.

Leading a Community and Gaining Real-Life Experience

One of my proudest achievements so far is building and managing a gaming community of over 2,000 members. It started as a hobby, but quickly turned into a small business where I handled operations, branding, event planning, and conflict resolution.

Managing this community taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving — lessons that no classroom could teach. It also showed me the power of creating spaces where people connect, collaborate, and grow together.

What Drives Me Every Day

At the heart of everything I do is a deep love for learning, problem-solving, and creating value. I thrive when faced with challenges — whether it’s understanding a complex accounting principle, designing a data visualization, or building a website from scratch.

I believe that today’s professionals must be versatile — strong in technical knowledge, yet flexible and creative enough to adapt to a rapidly changing world. This mindset guides my journey as I work toward becoming not just a CA, but a well-rounded, innovative professional ready to make an impact.

Looking Ahead

The road ahead is long and full of hard work, but I’m excited about every step. I want to continue learning, growing, and contributing — whether it’s through audits, financial consulting, or digital innovation.

If you’ve read this far, thank you for taking an interest in my story. I’m always open to connecting with others — whether you’re a fellow student, a professional, or just someone passionate about learning. Let’s share ideas, collaborate, and build something great together.
